Idea of the Congress

For generations, Poznań and the Wielkopolska region have been considered one of the most important centers of Polish economic and local government thought. It was here that the approach to economic efficiency, understood as the foundation for the efficient functioning of society, administration, and entrepreneurship, was shaped.

Referring to this tradition, Poznań became a natural venue for an event that created a regional space for discussion about the economy, society, and entrepreneurship development. This is how the idea of the Poznań Economic Congress was born – a platform for discussion about the future of Wielkopolska, Poland, and the global economy. What economic, financial, and social challenges face us today?

Can the standards of economic efficiency, business responsibility, and strong local government developed in our region serve as a guide in an increasingly complex world?

Previous editions demonstrate the enormous need for such a platform for debate. In 2025, the Congress attracted over 2,000 participants, 46 partners, and 215 panelists. In 2026, we aim to expand this event even further, increasing its scale and significance. The Poznań Economic Congress was created to harness the potential of Greater Poland for the development of all of Poland. It is a place for meetings, the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and the presentation of economic and social achievements.

The Congress is also a space for reflection on a world that has been changing at an incredibly rapid pace in recent years. Broken supply chains, Russian aggression in Ukraine, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the growing importance of climate change are all impacting the functioning of economies and states.

It is in Greater Poland – a region long associated with pragmatism, entrepreneurship, and responsibility – that an open debate about these challenges and how to navigate the new reality is worthwhile.

The Greater Poland identity, built over generations, is based not only on a concern for economic development but also on a sense of responsibility for the community – family, local community, and state. What topics and lines of debate will emerge during this year’s Congress?

What topics does PKG 2026 address?
