Mateusz Morawiecki to open the second day of the #PEC26
On Friday, 13 November, Mateusz Morawiecki, President of the Rozwój Plus Association and former Prime Minister of Poland (2017–2023), will open the second day of the Poznań Economic Congress 2026 as a special guest. His address will offer participants an opportunity to hear his perspective on the current state of the Polish economy and the challenges it faces.
The Polish Economy from a Former Prime Minister’s Perspective
What does the Polish economy look like today from the perspective of someone who was responsible for shaping its economic policy for several years?
This question will be at the centre of Mateusz Morawiecki’s address, which will begin the second day of the fifth edition of the Poznań Economic Congress.
PEC has long brought together representatives of business, politics, academia and public administration, providing an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the most pressing economic and social challenges.
The Congress is built around open discussion and the exchange of different viewpoints. Invited speakers present their own assessments, giving participants the opportunity to compare arguments and draw their own conclusions.
On 13 November, attendees will have the opportunity to hear how Mateusz Morawiecki assesses the Polish economy today, drawing on his experience as Prime Minister from 2017 to 2023.
A Full Day of Discussions on Business, Energy and the Future of Work
The former Prime Minister’s address will be followed by a programme focusing on key challenges facing Polish businesses, local governments and the wider economy.
Topics scheduled for the second day include:
- Energy security in Central Europe – challenges facing the region’s energy sector and its future development.
- Small businesses in the shadow of industry giants – how can SMEs compete and grow in markets dominated by major players?
- The future of work in the age of AI – how will artificial intelligence change employment and the skills businesses need?
- Safe and effective local government – how can local authorities respond to emerging challenges while supporting economic development?
- Business succession in Poland – how can companies prepare for generational change and ensure continuity?
Alongside panel discussions, the Congress programme includes practical workshops, networking opportunities and PEC Confrontations – a debate format that brings opposing viewpoints into direct discussion.
