Youth in local government: how youth councils are shaping local communities?

Youth engagement in shaping local policy and social activity is key to building modern, change-oriented local communities. With their ideas and commitment, young people can significantly influence the direction of development in cities and municipalities. Youth councils play an essential role by implementing initiatives that address the real needs of residents and support community integration.

During #PEC24, a panel titled “Youth in Local Government: How Youth Councils are Shaping Local Communities?” will take place.

The panel will discuss specific examples of initiatives and projects carried out by young people. The discussion will also cover the challenges and benefits of youth involvement in local government, as well as ways to support their efforts to encourage young citizens’ participation in public life.
