The Future of Transatlantic Relations and CEE Implications [EN]

Day II - Friday, 15 November 2024 | 13:15-14:45
Panel H
H2

Panel partners: Regionalny Ośrodek Debaty Międzynarodowej w Poznaniu | Central and Eastern European Council

For decades, transatlantic cooperation has been one of the pillars of security for Western countries, including Central and Eastern Europe. However, in recent years,  more and more institutions have questioned the existing order established after the fall of the Soviet Union. Demographic, economic, and technological changes are weakening the West’s position, especially in Europe. Additionally, the rising international stature of China and its active global policy are also affecting the coherence of transatlantic cooperation. Political changes in key countries such as the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, following recent elections, raise questions about the future shape of this cooperation. The panel aims to explore the perspectives on this collaboration.
